Introduction
MG-DX Inc. is a 100% subsidiary of CyberAgent, providing digital transformation solutions for pharmacies and drugstores. Their flagship service, "Yakkyubin" (薬急便), is a prescription ordering and online pharmaceutical counseling platform that digitally connects patients with pharmacies.

Challenge
MG-DX's electronic medication record feature was generating a high volume of customer support inquiries due to poor QR code reading accuracy. Their open-source scanning library couldn't reliably recognize the diverse versions of medical QR codes. Switching to a native app was not an option, as it would compromise the accessibility and convenience of their cloud-based service.
Solution
After a comparative evaluation of six competing scanning products, MG-DX selected the SCANDIT Web SDK. The solution delivered native-app-level scanning performance in a web browser, automatic reconstruction of segmented QR code data, seamless cloud integration, and a streamlined development process.
Why SCANDIT
The MG-DX development team evaluated six scanning products head-to-head. SCANDIT Web SDK was the only solution that delivered native-app-level scanning quality within a web browser environment. Since adopting a native app would reduce user accessibility for their cloud-based service, the Web SDK's performance in the browser was the decisive factor.
"Scandit's Web SDK excels in quality and usability with straightforward development. Our engineers unanimously evaluated it as the only viable option."
— Koji Yamamoto, Development Director, MG-DX Inc.

Impact
After deploying the SCANDIT Web SDK, customer support inquiries related to QR code scanning dropped to zero. MG-DX has since expanded SCANDIT adoption beyond the electronic medication record to additional services, including online consultation QR code reading.
